🌱 Growing and Feeding Community

Meeting the Challenge of Hunger in Tanzania

At the core of Word Hope International is a calling to bring hope and healing through hunger relief. From the beginning, our mission has been to fight food insecurity and nourish families both physically and spiritually.

Fertile farmland

🌍 A Vision Rooted in the Land

Word Hope began with the purchase of 100 acres of farmland and a 10-acre gift from a local village. Through generosity, the project has expanded to 200 acres dedicated to sustainable farming, education, and life-giving ministry.

🚜 Preparing the Ground for Harvest

Land preparation begins in late summer, with the first harvest expected by early December. This harvest will help:

  • Feed vulnerable families in surrounding villages
  • Supply fresh produce to Word Hope’s school, medical clinic, and mission teams
  • Create job opportunities and training for local workers
  • Model sustainable agriculture practices

Farm leadership

👷 On-Site Leadership and Labor

Word Hope employs a dedicated Farm Foreman and six full-time farmhands to manage planting, harvesting, and maintenance. This builds local capacity and long-term stewardship.

📖 Farming God’s Way

Farming God’s Way is a biblically grounded training program that teaches stewardship and sustainability. Quarterly on-site training helps farmers:

  • Improve yields and preserve soil health
  • Teach sustainable, faith-grounded techniques
  • Bring dignity to farming as a calling from God

🐓 Chicken Farm Initiative

The on-site chicken farm provides eggs for families, students, and patients while improving nutrition and supporting sustainability.

🤝 More Than a Farm, It’s a Ministry

Every seed planted and every meal provided restores dignity, builds community, and reflects God’s provision.
